Posted October 14 Rowing family picnic
The rowing family picnic is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 18, near Mechanicsburg. Bring beverages for your family and a side dish, along with a fishing pole if you want. Jeff Long has provided the following directions:
Take I-70 west, and exit at state Route 29 west. Take that all the way into Mechanicsburg. Mechanicsburg has one traffic light where 29 intersects state Route 4. Turn left on to Route 4. You now need to go approximately 4 miles. You will cross over two sets of railroad tracks, then come to a caution light. Stay on 4. After you pass that light, you start up a hill. About 3/4 of the way up the hill, you will see an entrance on your right. Turn into the drive and follow it. You will come to a Y in the lane; stay to the left. This will take you around to the lodge. We will hang ballons or something up at the gate to make it more easily seen.
